THEMED GROUP LESSONS ~ Every few weeks, Karen will offer group lessons here at the farm open to both regular students and all other riders. The lessons will each have a “theme,” such as gymnastic jumping lines, dressage arena geometry, riding/jumping in the open, lateral work, etc. Groups will be divided if entries warrant and/or if levels vary significantly. All riders, even those with no dressage or eventing experience, are encouraged to attend and will be grouped with others at a comparable level. In addition to the mounted lessons, Karen will also teach some informal seminars covering everything from saddle selection and basic fitting, horse leg protection, bits and bitting, braiding, clipping, competition turnout, rules for competition, etc. These will often be scheduled before or after group mounted lessons, and will be open to anyone, whether riding that day or not. Fees: Mounted sessions: $25 Unmounted sessions: $10 Mounted and unmounted session on same day: $30 Both mounted and unmounted sessions will run approximately one hour, depending on group size. Participants must RSVP for both mounted and unmounted sessions by phone or email. Anyone cancelling without giving 48 hours notice is subject to pay full lesson fees, unless their spot can be filled from a waiting list. Mounted participants must bring a signed DHF disclaimer form (download below) as well as their horse's current negative coggins report.

Some feedback from previous clinic participants: I thoroughly enjoyed my first group lesson with Karen. Her teaching style is logical and unhurried, mindful of building upon basics as a means to an end rather than forcing an issue. Her explanations and analogies really connected the dots for me. My horse and I were relaxed, and we just had a wonderful time with her encouraging method of instruction. Thank you! Nancy Aquino -------- Clinic with Mrs. Karen The clinic with Mrs. Karen helped me a lot with my dressage. I learned how to get Dillon round and forward, and I also got to hear some techniques for the other horses and riders there. These I’ll remember if I need to use them on a future horse. After the clinic I went home and Dillon was a different horse. I got on him and he went straight on the bit. Thanks Mrs. Karen!!! Sarah Beth Hood (age 12) ------- The Introduction to Eventing Clinic at Dancing Horse Farm on October 4th and 5th 2008 was fabulous. I know little or nothing about eventing but I feel like I have learned a lot about what Lois Lassiter ------- I thoroughly enjoyed the eventing clinic. It was very informative on the basics of eventing and alot of fun too! Although I have been riding cross country for several years, I knew nothing about the total sport of eventing, especially dressage. Under Karen’s instruction, I was able to learn for the first time about dressage, and how talented a mount and rider must be to be successful in eventing. She teaches in a way in which each rider can understand. She takes complex issues, and breaks them down to the fundamentals. Karen helped motivate the students to push themselves beyond their comfort zone. She is an instructor that provides honest feedback, as well as solutions of how to improve your riding to the next level. Thanks again.
